Hi, I'm Aditya Suthar
Backend developer with experience in building web apps using Python and Django. Solid grasp of DSA. Wikimedia & KDE Open-source contributor. Familiar with pandas, PyTorch, and LLM.
About Me
I'm a Computer Science undergrad and a passionate full-stack developer with a strong focus on building scalable web applications using Django, Django REST Framework, React, and PostgreSQL. With hands-on experience in real-world projects like disease prediction systems, Chrome extensions, and contact management apps, I combine backend logic with intuitive frontend design. I have also contributed to open-source projects and enjoy solving problems that blend software engineering with real-life impact.
Currently, I am actively seeking opportunities where I can contribute to impactful products, grow as a developer, and work with forward-thinking teams.

Youtube Transcript Summarizer
This project is a YouTube transcript summarizer built with a modern tech stack. The frontend, powered by React, offers an intuitive user interface for submitting YouTube video links. On the backend, Django manages the application logic and interacts with SQLite for efficient data storage. The core summarization functionality is driven by Google GenAI, leveraging its advanced capabilities to condense lengthy video transcripts into concise summaries.

Contacts App
This is a straightforward Contacts Management Application built using the Django web framework. It provides essential features for efficiently adding, editing, and managing your contacts. The user interface is crafted with standard web technologies, HTML and CSS, ensuring a clear and functional experience.

Polls API
This is a RESTful Polls API application, meticulously engineered using Django REST Framework. It provides robust functionalities for comprehensive question management and a seamless voting system. All features are exposed through well-defined API endpoints, enabling flexible integration and interaction for various client applications.
Open Source Contributions

Wikimedia Projects
Lingua Libre, an initiative by Wikimedia France, is a collaborative platform for building a free, multilingual audio library that helps preserve languages, particularly those that are underrepresented. In doing so, I delved into a very young codebase and an active project with partial documentation, contributing a few features while positively connecting with the developers and the lead coordinator. I utilized Wikimedia's Phabricator and GitLab, and I further familiarized myself with open-source culture.

GCompris (KDE)
The Target activity is designed to help children practice precision and coordination skills by aiming and hitting a target. It was enhanced by adding a validation button for input values. Previously, the activity considered typed values as final results. I have implemented a feature that requires the user to click an `OK` button after entering the input. This prevents multiple submissions and ensures accurate evaluation.

PVNet (OpenClimateFix)
Open Climate Fix is a nonprofit research organization focused on using machine learning to accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon energy grid. PVNet is one of its key projects, aimed at improving photovoltaic (solar energy) forecasting using AI. In my contribution, I addressed Issue #210 by implementing improvements to enhance the system's functionality and accuracy. This contribution helps refine PVNet’s solar energy forecasting capabilities, supporting better integration of renewable energy into the power grid.
